before i die1Find Your Writing Niche: Before I Die wall

I’ve heard of the young adult novel, “Before I Die” by Jenny Downham, but haven’t read it. I’ve also heard of the “Before I Die” walls that have appeared around the world, but I never saw one until a few days ago. I went to the Burroughs-Chapin art museum in Myrtle Beach, S.C. where a “Before I Die” wall was on the grounds, and visitors were invited to write on it. My friend and I didn’t, but, of course, we talked about our bucket lists.

People consistently tell me they want to write a book, and almost 100 percent of them want to write a novel. I’ve been in, and continue to be, in writers’ groups that promote the idea. I say “Do it!”

Most people don’t understand the intricacies of writing a book, especially writing a book that sells. With ebooks and self-publishing it’s easier to get a book in print. If this is your “Before I Die” wish, check out these Web sites.

I published three ebooks in 2020: Women and Adversity, Honoring 23 Black Women; Women and Adversity, Recognizing 23 Notable Mothers; and Women and Adversity, Saluting 23 Faithful Suffragists to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. These books are meant to be study guides for all students from grade school through college to help in choosing topics for assignments and to learn more about these noteworthy women.
